German for Adults: Intensity and Prices
Zurichsee International language Studio specialises in preparing students for German TELC/Goethe Institute examinations. To achieve the desired level of competence students need to obtain between 125 and 150 academic hours of tuition (1 academic hour equals to 45 minute lesson) for A (Beginners) level and between 100 and 150 hours for B (intermediate) level.
We subdivided our courses into 3 intensity levels according to the number of hours per week students wish to obtain and marked them with asterisk accordingly: Slow/weekly* Courses (up to 3 lessons per week), Semi-Intensive** (up to 5.5 lessons per week) and Intensive*** (up to 8 lessons per week). Therefore students who opt for an intensive course (twice a week) are expected to complete one level in one semester.
We also offer conversational courses for students who wish to obtain or maintain the previously achieved level of speech competence with the stress of preparation for examinations removed.
Tuition fees are paid in full before the beginning of the course, and will be invoiced at the time when the course is confirmed. Alternatively, subject to common agreement between ZILS and the applicant, the fees can be spread over two instalments. Not all courses offer the possibility of paying in instalments and an extra administrative charge of CHF 20 per instalment is made for this facility. All fees must be paid within 10 days of the invoice
The cost of a 60-minute private lesson (package of 10 lessons, prepaid) at our premises in Wollerau is:
- CHF 85 for 1 student
- CHF 45 per person for 2 students
- CHF 30 per person for 3 students
Cancellation or Withdrawal
Once the course has been confirmed and provided there are at least 30 (thirty) days before the course is due to begin, the applicant may cancel the contract for a fee equal to 20% of the full course fees. Otherwise the balance of the full course fees is payable on cancellation or later withdrawal from the course for any reason.
If an applicant wishes to join the course which is already underway, subject to the agreement of the management of ZILS, then they will be invoiced for the pro rata proportion of the full course fee, having regard to their actual date of joining the course and the remaining period the course is due to run.
The course fees do not cover the cost of course materials, such as textbooks. The applicants will be advised of the materials required and may either ask ZILS to provide them at additional cost (which must also be paid within 10 days of the invoice) or purchase the materials directly from the bookshop.
